How to Delete Your Account on Beancount.io

At Beancount.io, we value your privacy and ensure that your personal information is handled with care. If you decide that you no longer wish to use our services and would like your account and associated data deleted, you can do so directly from the dashboard.

Steps to Delete Your Account:

You can delete your account directly from the dashboard:

1. Navigate to Settings Log in to your Beancount.io dashboard and click on Settings in the navigation menu.

2. Go to General Settings Select General from the settings sidebar.

3. Access the Danger Zone Scroll down to the Danger Zone section at the bottom of the page.

4. Delete Your Account Click the Delete Account button and confirm your action. Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted immediately.

This action is immediate and cannot be undone. All your data will be permanently deleted.

What Happens to Your Data?

Data That Will Be Deleted:

• Personal information including:
  • Your name and contact details
  • Email address
  • Account credentials
  • Your financial ledger data
  • Transaction history
  • User preferences and settings
  • Any uploaded documents or files

Data That May Be Retained:

• Certain non-personal data may be retained for the following reasons:
  • Anonymized Usage Statistics: Retained for analytical purposes to improve our services (not linked to your identity)
  • Transaction Records: Basic records may be kept for up to 90 days for regulatory compliance
  • Backup Data: May remain in encrypted backups for up to 30 days after deletion

Data Retention Period:

• Your personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days of your request
• Any data in backups will be removed within 30 days after the initial deletion
