1. Where is the audit trail?

Every AI-created or AI-modified entry should show what changed, when, why, and what the original value was. If you cannot trace a correction back to its source in two clicks, walk away. An audit trail is not optional in accounting software; it is the product.

2. How does human review actually work?

Ask to see the review queue. How does the system flag uncertain items? Can you set materiality thresholds so anything above a dollar amount always needs approval? Does it learn from your corrections? 3. What happens when it is wrong?

4. Can you leave with your data?
