Broadcom Inc. (AVGO) — Open Ledger
Broadcom's complete financial history, FY2021–FY2025, modeled as a public, auditable plain-text Beancount ledger. Part of the Open Ledger project on beancount.io — public companies' income statements and balance sheets, reconstructed line-by-line from their own SEC filings and version-controlled in git.
Companion analysis: Broadcom FY2025 Earnings: $63.9B in Revenue, and a Net Income That Nearly Quadrupled to $23.1B
Quick Start
uvx --from beancount bean-check main.beanZero output means the ledger is internally consistent — every income statement sums to zero, and every balance-sheet snapshot below reconciles to Broadcom's own filed totals.

Methodology
- Balance sheet figures are asserted via
pad/balancedirectives against each fiscal year-end's filed Form 10-K — see the source comment at the top of each period file for the exact SEC EDGAR filing cited (all figures cross-checked across overlapping fiscal years wherever two independently-filed 10-Ks disclose the same period). - Income statement for each period is a single zero-sum transaction:
Incomeaccounts are negative (credit),Expensespositive (debit), with the arithmetic check shown in a comment directly above the transaction. - Amortization of acquired intangible assets gets its own dedicated account (
Expenses:AmortizationOfAcquiredIntangibles) rather than being folded into cost of revenue — at ~$8–9B a year post-VMware, it is the single largest swing factor in Broadcom's reported earnings. - All amounts are in
MUSD(millions of US dollars);18315 MUSDmeans $18.315 billion.
