| FY2024 | FY2024/year.bean | NVIDIA 10-K FY2024, balance sheet as of January 28, 2024 |
| FY2025 | FY2025/year.bean | NVIDIA 10-K FY2025, balance sheet as of January 26, 2025 |

| FY2027Q2 | FY2027/year.bean | sec.gov filing |
Each year.bean includes that fiscal year's quarter files (Q1.bean–
Q4.bean), which hold the revenue and expense transactions, and adds the
year-end entries and the balance-sheet assertions; FY2027/year.bean includes
Q1 and Q2 so far, which is why it appears twice above. NVIDIA's fiscal year
ends in late January — FY2024 on January 28, 2024, FY2025 on January 26, 2025
and FY2026 on January 25, 2026 — and its SEC CIK is 0001045810. The ledger
posts full US dollars (USD), while the Key Figures table is in millions and
has no FY2024 figures yet. From Q1 FY2027 revenue is posted to two market
platforms, Income:Data-Center and Income:Edge-Computing, in place of the
earlier Gaming, Professional Visualization, Automotive and OEM and Other
lines.
Quick Start
make check # uv run bean-check main.bean
make serve # uv run fava main.bean — Fava web UI at http://127.0.0.1:5000
# or, with no virtualenv:
uvx --from beancount bean-check main.bean
uvx --from beanquery bean-query main.bean \
"SELECT account, sum(position) WHERE account ~ '^Income:' AND date >= 2025-01-27 AND date <= 2026-01-25 AND payee != 'Closing Entry' GROUP BY account ORDER BY account"Zero output from make check (or bean-check) means every transaction sums to
zero and every asserted balance-sheet line matches the filed figure. The query
prints fiscal 2026 income by account; income is a credit, so it shows as a
negative number. It filters by the fiscal year's dates and leaves out the
closing entries, because each completed year closes its income and expense
accounts to retained earnings — a plain sum over a year nets to zero.
Methodology
- Income statement — each quarter file posts one transaction per
disclosed line: revenue by segment, cost of revenue, research and
development, sales, general and administrative, interest income and expense,
other income (expense) and income tax. At the end of a completed fiscal year
year.beancloses income and expenses toEquity:Retained-Earningsand
retires treasury stock ("Closing Entry" transactions); FY2027 is still open,
so its accounts carry year-to-date balances. - Balance sheet — each completed year ends with
paddirectives (source
Equity:Opening-Balances) andbalanceassertions against that year's Form
10-K, andFY2024/year.beanopens the ledger from the FY2023 Form 10-K. For
the quarters of the open year every asset and liability account is asserted
individually; stockholders' equity is disclosed only in aggregate at quarter
end, so the equity accounts are not asserted one by one there. - Cash-flow items — disclosed cash-flow lines (customer collections,
capital expenditures, securities purchases, share repurchases, stock-based
compensation, dividends) are kept as transactions for their narrative value;
the assertions above hold whatever their precision. - Sources — quarter files cite NVIDIA's quarterly earnings press releases
(furnished on Form 8-K); the year files cite the Form 10-K, or the Form 10-Q
for the quarters of the open year. - Chart — this ledger predates the Open Ledger standard chart: account
names are hyphenated (Assets:Current:Cash-And-Equivalents) andmain.bean
groups them under a numbered chart of accounts. - Unit —
USD, full dollars;96,221,000,000.00 USDmeans $96,221
million.
