What's Inside

Fiscal years end on the last Sunday of May (52/53-week years; fiscal 2026 had 53 weeks); SEC CIK 0000023217. FY2022–FY2026 come from Form 10-K filings and FY2027Q1 (thirteen weeks ended August 30, 2026) from the Form 10-Q and the earnings release (8-K Exhibit 99.1, 2026-09-30). Each period is modeled from its own filing as originally filed. Net income is net income attributable to Conagra Brands, Inc., and fiscal 2026 is a net loss after goodwill and brand impairment charges.

Quick Start

bash
uvx --from beancount bean-check main.bean
uvx --from beanquery bean-query main.bean \
"SELECT year, sum(position) WHERE account ~ '^Income:Revenue' GROUP BY year ORDER BY year"

Zero output from bean-check means the ledger is internally consistent: every
income statement sums to zero and every balance-sheet snapshot reconciles to
the filed totals. The query prints revenue by calendar year; income is a
credit, so it shows as a negative number. Open main.bean in Fava
or import it into beancount.io to explore it visually.

Methodology

  • Balance sheet — pad / balance directives assert each period-end
figure against the filing named in that period file's source banner.
  • Income statement — one zero-sum transaction per period: Income
negative (credit), Expenses positive (debit), with the arithmetic check in
    a comment directly above it.
  • Unit — MUSD; 2,595.9 MUSD means 2,595.9 million US dollars.
  • Additional accounts — Assets:Current:Inventory, Equity:TreasuryStock,
    Equity:NoncontrollingInterests, Expenses:Interest, opened beyond the
standard chart (see each account's open line in main.bean).
  • Impairments and divestitures — labeled postings, never folded into a
residual. For FY2022–FY2024 the statement of earnings carried them inside
selling, general and administrative expenses, so they are second postings
on Expenses:SellingGeneralAdministrative (amounts from that 10-K's notes)
and the SG&A postings sum to the filed line. From FY2025 the statement
presents them on their own lines and they are Expenses:OtherNet postings.
  • Below operating profit — Expenses:Interest holds the filing's
"Interest expense, net"; Expenses:OtherNet nets pension and postretirement
non-service income and equity method investment earnings, so it is negative
    in most periods.
