My hours live in Toggl and my money in Beancount. Should time enter the ledger?

I bill hours across four clients and my time lives in Toggl while my money lives in Beancount, so every invoice means reconciling two systems that refuse to agree. I keep hearing hledger reads timeclock and timedot files natively, with timedot using dots for fifteen-minute blocks, letting users query time and money together, while Beancount has nothing like that. Has anyone bridged hours into Beancount, as a commodity, a plugin, or a side file, or should time stay out of the ledger entirely?

time lives in Toggl

Yes, keep it out. The ledger tracks money, and hours are not money. I keep a plain timeclock file, run a small script that turns entries into invoices, and post only the invoice totals to Beancount. My balance sheet stays clean and every report still balances exactly as it should.

Fred’s wrong. Post HOURS per client as inventory, unbilled time stays queryable. What exactly breaks in your reports?
