What's Inside

Fiscal years end on the Saturday closest to July 31 (52/53-week years; fiscal 2024 had 53 weeks, every other covered year 52); SEC CIK 0001576942. Every year is recorded as last presented by the company: Stitch Fix ceased its UK business in the first quarter of fiscal 2024 and later Form 10-K filings recast fiscal 2022 and fiscal 2023 with that business as a discontinued operation, so revenue and every expense line are continuing operations only and the UK result is one labeled Expenses:DiscontinuedOperations posting. Net loss is the filing's consolidated net loss, continuing plus discontinued, and equals the originally filed figure in every year. The fiscal 2022 balance sheet was never re-presented and comes from the fiscal 2022 Form 10-K; each period file's banner names every filing used.

Quick Start

bash
uvx --from beancount bean-check main.bean
uvx --from beanquery bean-query main.bean \
"SELECT year, sum(position) WHERE account ~ '^Income:Revenue' GROUP BY year ORDER BY year"

Zero output from bean-check means the ledger is internally consistent: every
income statement sums to zero and every balance-sheet snapshot reconciles to
the filed totals. The query prints revenue by calendar year; income is a
credit, so it shows as a negative number. Open main.bean in Fava
or import it into beancount.io to explore it visually.

Methodology

  • Balance sheet — pad / balance directives assert each period-end
figure against the filing named in that period file's source banner.
  • Income statement — one zero-sum transaction per period: Income
negative (credit), Expenses positive (debit), with the arithmetic check in
    a comment directly above it.
  • Unit — MUSD; 1,348.119 MUSD means 1,348.119 million US dollars.
  • Additional accounts — Assets:Current:Inventory,
    Assets:NonCurrent:LongTermInvestments,
    Assets:NonCurrent:OperatingLeaseRightOfUse,
    Liabilities:Current:OperatingLeases,
    Liabilities:NonCurrent:OperatingLeases, Equity:TreasuryStock,
Expenses:DiscontinuedOperations, opened beyond the standard chart (see each
    account's open line in main.bean).
  • Precision — the filings report USD thousands; amounts keep three
decimals of MUSD, so every figure equals the filed number exactly.
  • Discontinued operations — the UK business's result, net of income taxes,
is a single Expenses:DiscontinuedOperations posting: a debit for the
losses of FY2022–FY2024, a small credit for FY2025's income, and no posting
in FY2026, when the line is nil. As originally filed, revenue was
2,072.812 MUSD in FY2022 and 1,638.423 MUSD in FY2023; the recast moves
the UK revenue out of Income:Revenue.
  • Income:OtherNet — two labeled postings per period: interest income and
the filing's "other income (expense), net".
  • Residual lines — Assets:Current:Other (prepaid expenses and other
current assets, plus the income tax receivable in FY2022) and
Liabilities:Current:Other (accrued liabilities, gift card liability, other
current liabilities) are itemized in each period file's comments and
reconcile to the filed subtotals. In FY2023 the …:Other lines also hold
the discontinued-operations balance-sheet captions, itemized the same way.
  • Unposted accounts — the filings show no borrowings, trade receivables,
goodwill, intangible assets or separate R&D line in any covered period, so
those core accounts carry no balance.
