Amounts in MUSD (millions of US dollars), exactly as the ledger records them.

What's Inside

All figures are sourced from MongoDB, Inc.'s Form 10-K and Form 10-Q filings (SEC EDGAR CIK 0001441816; Nasdaq: MDB). Fiscal years end January 31 and are named for the calendar year in which they end: FY2027 runs February 1, 2026 through January 31, 2027. FY2027Q2 is the standalone three months ended July 31, 2026, from the unaudited Form 10-Q, not the six-month statement. The filings report US dollars in thousands and the ledger keeps that precision, three decimals of MUSD. The 0.25% convertible senior notes due 2026 leave the balance sheet in fiscal 2025, when they were redeemed and converted into common stock; the Voyage AI acquisition appears in fiscal 2026 only as goodwill and intangible assets, the captions the filing prints.

Quick Start

bash
uvx --from beancount bean-check main.bean
uvx --from beanquery bean-query main.bean \
"SELECT year, sum(position) WHERE account ~ '^Income:Revenue' GROUP BY year ORDER BY year"

Zero output from bean-check means the ledger is internally consistent: every
income statement sums to zero and every balance-sheet snapshot reconciles to
the filed totals. The query prints revenue by calendar year; income is a
credit, so it shows as a negative number. Open main.bean in Fava
or import it into beancount.io to explore it visually.

Methodology

  • Balance sheet — pad / balance directives assert each period-end
figure against the filing named in that period file's source banner.
  • Income statement — one zero-sum transaction per period: Income
negative (credit), Expenses positive (debit), with the arithmetic check in
    a comment directly above it.
  • Unit — MUSD; 771.773 MUSD means 771.773 million US dollars.
  • Revenue — Income:Revenue is one posting equal to the filing's total
revenue: subscription plus services. The split, and the share of revenue
the filing attributes to Atlas, are comments.
  • Stock-based compensation — the expense lines are the filed GAAP lines
and include stock-based compensation; it is never split out of them. Each
period file carries the filing's own stock-based compensation table as a
    comment.
  • Operating expenses — two labeled Expenses:CostOfRevenue postings
    (subscription, services) and two labeled
    Expenses:SellingGeneralAdministrative postings (sales and marketing,
general and administrative), each the filing's own line.
  • Other income and expense — interest income, interest expense and other
income (expense), net are each a labeled posting carrying the filed
amount. They sit on Expenses:OtherNet in a period where they net to an
expense (FY2022) and on Income:OtherNet where they net to income, never
    both.
  • Convertible notes and capped calls —
Liabilities:NonCurrent:LongTermDebt is the filed caption "convertible
senior notes, net", nil from January 31, 2025. The capped calls have no
balance sheet caption: their cost and their June 2024 cash settlement are
inside additional paid-in capital, as filed, and are described in comments
    only.
  • Other accounts — Assets:NonCurrent:OperatingLeaseRightOfUse and
    Liabilities:{Current,NonCurrent}:OperatingLeases (operating leases),
    Liabilities:NonCurrent:DeferredRevenue (deferred revenue, non-current)
and Equity:TreasuryStock (treasury stock at cost, nil at July 31, 2026
after the shares were retired). Assets:Current:Other combines deferred
    commissions with prepaid expenses and other current assets;
    Assets:NonCurrent:Other combines deferred tax assets with other assets;
Liabilities:Current:Other combines accrued compensation and benefits
with other accrued liabilities — each itemized in the period file.
  • As last presented — each year uses the most recent filing that
presents it. No filing read restates an earlier year; each period file
names the filing each statement comes from and the one it was first filed
    in.
