What's Inside

All figures are sourced from Deere & Company's Form 10-K and Form 10-Q filings (SEC EDGAR CIK 0000315189; NYSE: DE). Deere uses a 52/53-week fiscal year ending on the last Sunday in the reporting period, generally near the end of October: FY2021 through FY2024 contained 52 weeks and FY2025, which ended November 2, 2025, contained 53. FY2026Q3 is the standalone 13 weeks ended August 2, 2026, not the nine-month statement. Deere consolidates its financing arm, John Deere Financial, so financing receivables are the largest asset in every period; the ledger posts the consolidated statements exactly as filed and keeps the equipment-operations / Financial Services split, which the filings give as unaudited supplemental data, in comments.

income statement sums to zero and every balance-sheet snapshot reconciles to
the filed totals. The query prints revenue by calendar year; income is a
credit, so it shows as a negative number. Open main.bean in Fava
or import it into beancount.io to explore it visually.

Methodology

  • Balance sheet — pad / balance directives assert each period-end
    figure against the filing named in that period file's source banner.
  • Income statement — one zero-sum transaction per period: Income
    negative (credit), Expenses positive (debit), with the arithmetic check in
    a comment directly above it.
  • Unit — MUSD; 12,608 MUSD means 12,608 million US dollars.
  • Revenue — Income:Revenue is one posting equal to the filing's total
    net sales and revenues: net sales plus finance and interest income plus
    other income. The split, and net sales by segment, are in the comments.
  • Net income — net income attributable to Deere & Company; the
    noncontrolling-interest share is a labeled Expenses:OtherNet posting.
  • The financing arm — Assets:NonCurrent:Loans holds "financing
    receivables – net" and Assets:NonCurrent:LoansSecuritized holds
    "financing receivables securitized – net", the retail notes that secure
    the "short-term securitization borrowings" in
    Liabilities:Current:FundingDebt.
    Assets:NonCurrent:EquipmentOnOperatingLeases holds the machines Deere
    owns and leases out, and Expenses:Interest the filing's interest expense
    line. The allowance for credit losses and the provision appear only in the
    notes to the filings, so they are comments, not postings.
  • Unclassified balance sheet — the filings print no current /
    non-current subtotals; Current and NonCurrent in the account names are
    the Open Ledger house hierarchy, not a classification Deere makes.
  • Other accounts — Assets:Current:Inventory (inventories),
    Equity:TreasuryStock (common stock in treasury, at cost),
    Equity:NoncontrollingInterests and
    Equity:Temporary:RedeemableNoncontrollingInterests (the redeemable
    noncontrolling interest printed between liabilities and equity).
    Assets:NonCurrent:Other and Liabilities:NonCurrent:Other combine the
    retirement-benefit, deferred-tax and other captions, itemized in each
    period file.
  • Named one-off — FY2026Q3 carries the $110 million of tariff recoveries
    the 10-Q says decreased cost of sales as a second, labeled
    Expenses:CostOfRevenue posting; the two postings sum to the filed line.
  • As last presented — each year uses the most recent filing that
    presents it. No income statement was restated; the October 31, 2021
    balance sheet follows the fiscal 2022 10-K, which folded three affiliate
    captions into other lines without changing any total.
