What's Inside

Fiscal years end Dec 31 (CIK 766421, NYSE: ALK). History starts at FY2024, the year Air Group closed the Hawaiian Airlines acquisition, so every period reflects the combined company. FY2024 and FY2025 come from the audited 10-Ks; FY2026Q3 is modeled from the Q3 earnings release (Form 8-K Exhibit 99.1), which prints full condensed statements with the equity split — no Q3 10-Q was filed as of October 20, 2026. Air traffic liability and loyalty deferred revenue sit on Liabilities:Current:DeferredRevenue; the Q3 income tax line isolates the $75M catch-up of first-half tax benefits as its own posting.

Quick Start

bash
uvx --from beancount bean-check main.bean
uvx --from beanquery bean-query main.bean \
"SELECT year, sum(position) WHERE account ~ '^Income:Revenue' GROUP BY year ORDER BY year"

Zero output from bean-check means the ledger is internally consistent: every
income statement sums to zero and every balance-sheet snapshot reconciles to
the filed totals. The query prints revenue by calendar year; income is a
credit, so it shows as a negative number. Open main.bean in Fava
or import it into beancount.io to explore it visually.

Methodology

  • Balance sheet — pad / balance directives assert each period-end
figure against the filing named in that period file's source banner.
  • Income statement — one zero-sum transaction per period: Income
negative (credit), Expenses positive (debit), with the arithmetic check in
    a comment directly above it.
  • Unit — MUSD; 4,308 MUSD means 4,308 million US dollars.
  • Additional accounts — Assets:Current:RestrictedCash,
    Assets:NonCurrent:OperatingLeaseRightOfUse,
    Liabilities:Current:OperatingLeases,
    Liabilities:NonCurrent:OperatingLeases, Equity:TreasuryStock, opened
beyond the standard chart (see each account's open line in main.bean).
  • Residual lines — Assets:Current:Other folds inventories and supplies,
prepaid expenses and other current assets; Liabilities:Current:Other folds
accrued wages and other accrued liabilities; Liabilities:NonCurrent:Other
folds noncurrent deferred revenue, deferred income taxes, the pension
obligation and other liabilities. Each carries its components and the filing
    subtotal in a comment.
  • Named one-offs stay visible — the FY2026Q3 tax provision is two
postings ($90M ordinary plus the $75M AETR catch-up the release quantifies),
and each period's operating special items (Hawaiian integration costs) are
their own Expenses:CostOfRevenue posting, never folded away.
